Mary Jackson                1936 - Present

 

Mary studied at Southampton and Winchester College of Art between 1978 and 1983. She was elected a Member of the New English Art Club in 1987 and Member of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1995. 

Mary is a painter of figurative landscape and still life subjects in oil and watercolours. Working away from the studio has always been an integral part of her style of painting. Whether she is travelling or working in the countryside, this approach heightens her perception and revitalises her images. These are then taken back to the studio where the gathered material is worked out in her painting.
