Growing up in Maidenhead, Berkshire Neil Pauffley started playing tennis when he was 5 years old at Bisham Abbey Sports Centre. At the age of 19 Neil was selected to train full time at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, where he was part of Team Aegon. At present he is training full time at the Nottingham Performance Academy.
Neil had a very successful junior ITF career being ranked as high as 52 in the world, where he was fortunate enough to be eligible to play in all four Grand Slams as a junior experiencing playing in the most prestige tournaments of the sport. Neil has also represented Great Britain in U16 and U18 Summer Cup proving what a successful junior career he had.
Having won three $10,000 ITF Tournaments in Europe and runner up in four others, Neil is currently ranked 490 in the world with a career high last year of 406. Neil’s most recent achievement was reaching the final of Edinburgh $10,000 tournament in April 2014, narrowly missing out on yet another title.
Neil’s short term goal is to get his ranking up to 400 ATP where he wants to start playing Challenger Events week in week out. While his long term goal is to be in the top 200 ATP, competing in all four Grand Slams.
In the past Neil has been fully funded by the Lawn Tennis Association, when based at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton. At this current time Neil has a racket sponsor with Wilson but receives no other funding, so would really appreciate your support.
