Amy is a 21 year-old professional tennis player from Greystones, Co.Wicklow Ireland who is currently based at Irelands National Tennis Centre. Based here allows her to train and travel with her long standing coach Gary Cahill. Amy is Ireland’s number one female tennis player who in 2013 was ranked 449 in the world. Since then Amy tore her cartilage in her knee and underwent surgery, resulting in being unable to compete for 5 months causing a drop in ranking.

Amy started tennis aged 5 at her local club, Greystones LTC. At the young age of 9 she was selected to be a member of the National Tennis Academy, where she trained for the next 10 years. Aged 14, Amy was selected to represent Ireland on the Federation Cup team, the youngest Irish player ever selected and a couple of months later won the Irish National Championships U18. For the next 2 years Amy competed on the Junior ITF World Tour until the age of 16, where she reached a career high ranking of 206.

After recovering from injury Amy had a successful year in 2014 representing Ireland’s Federation Cup Team in Estonia helping them to gain promotion to group 2 winning 6 out of 6 matches. Amy to date has won five $10,000 singles events and five $10,000 doubles titles. Her success in 2014 icluded singles title wins in Egypt, Bath and Helsinki. Following such a great year for Amy, in 2015 so far Amy has won the Sunderland $10,000 helping her jump over 350 places in the world rankings since being injuerd towards the end of 2013 curently ranked 385 WTA.

Amy’s long term goal is to reach the top 100 in the world where she can compete in all four Grand Slams earning her living from tennis. To play in the qualifying of Grand Slams Amy needs to be ranked in the top 200; which is her medium-term goal within the next 10 months.

Currently, Amy is playing on the ITF Pro Circuit and Women's WTA Tour however, has no financial funding from anywhere, except for the incredible support from family, which allows her to continue trying to achieve her goal. Amy is receiving equipment support from Head including rackets but has no clothing sponsor as yet. Amy would really appreciate your support.
