I was born and raised in Canberra and started playing tennis when I was four. I was extremely involved in all sports from a young age, and was competitive in football (soccer) receiving the rising star award for a large Australian club at the age of 13. I was also selected for state representation in touch football but shortly after decided to commit myself fully to tennis as it was always my first passion.
I won the U/12s singles and doubles and U/14s singles Nationals Championships and have represented Australia 4 times from the age of 12 including competing in Junior Fed Cup Finals. In 2008, I was awarded the Garnier Rising Star award at the Australian Open and two years after that I qualified for my first grand slam at the Junior Australian Open 2010.
I moved to Barcelona, Spain at the age of 16 leaving my family and friends behind to pursue my dream of becoming a professional tennis player. Within 1 year of being in Spain, I got Junior ITF ranking up to 119, and was prepared to play all the Grand Slams but due to injury (stress fractures in spine) I was forced to take six months off.
I have won 1 ITF singles title as well as 15 ITF doubles titles, 11 of those being in 2014 including the singles title. I made my WTA Tour debut at the 2015 Hobart International, in the doubles event and the following week, she made my senior Grand Slam debut at the 2015 Australia Open, also in the women's doubles. After having such a successful year in 2014, my goals are only to aim higher and finish top 250 by the end of 2015 in singles and doubles.
